With a Turn of the Page

It’s Saturday morning. A morning to hopefully sit for a few moments with a cup of coffee or tea or hot chocolate and relax before your day begins.

Time for yourself with a cup of coffee.

Ok, maybe you need to put that first load of laundry in washer or take the dogs out, but hey, then you need to take a few minutes for yourself, a few minutes to breathe.

Pets can help us reflect and refocus.

With a turn of a page this morning, the month moved from January to February, and just like that, the first 31 days of 2020 have passed. Take a moment today to review those goals and resolutions you set for yourself on the first of January.

And tomorrow? Tomorrow is Groundhog’s Day AND the Superbowl.

Groundhog’s Day! That crazy day when someone in Pennsylvania allows a rodent to predict our weather: Will we have six more weeks of winter? OR Will we have an early spring?

Depending on what part of the country you live in, six weeks will get us into mid-March with the first day of spring on Thursday, March 19, 2020.

But right now, it’s February.

Right now, the days are getting longer. Have you noticed that the sun doesn’t set as early as it did? I like that. With more hours of daylight, I am coming out of hibernation and getting more done with less of a foggy brain.

January was a month of beginnings. A month of getting motivated and working to figure out this thing called life.

Spoiler alert: There is NO figuring out life because just when you think you have things figured out, LIFE throws you a curve ball and you must adapt.

This is the month (February) that this blog, which was once four separate blogs, morphs into ONE. It’s part of my simplification of life.

You see, when life gets too complicated, it’s time to do something. Revise your goals. Eliminate unwanted tasks or possessions. Recommit to your passions.

Evaluating how things have been going and how to keep moving forward or get back on track is good for your soul. That deep inner reflection. That refocusing. Today is the day to sit for a moment and do just that. Reflect and refocus.
