A Quick Look at Metropolis
On our many wanderings from Illinois (used-to-be-home) back to Tennessee (our-forever-home), I am always fascinated by the grace of the windmill fields in Southern Illinois.
Just before you leave Illinois, Metropolis is a pin-point on the map, but it is the home of Superman. For those of you who are Superman fans, the enormous statue of the superhero himself stands in the square waiting for fan to pose for a picture with him.

And across the street stands a small store that resembles the newspaper office that Clark Kent worked at.

The other thing I caught as we stopped in town was the mural to commemorate the defenders of freedom on the side of the building.

But I am always happy when the skyline of Nashville comes into view. It means that I am nearing home.

Thanks for reading.
