I See Winter Aliens. Do You?
Here in the Mid-west the snow is falling and the wind is blowing. We are having a blizzard.
The drive is covered, and even though the plow came through our neighborhood late this morning, it needs to come through again.
The wind has blown drifts that reach out over my roof, and others that swirl on my driveway. Yes, they are beautiful, but I know I will have to snow blow in the morning before I go anywhere.
As I gazed out my kitchen window this afternoon, I found that my neighbor’s aliens have returned and are watching my house from their back yard.
They think that they are camouflaged by the snow, but I can see them – their brick eyes and blue label mouths. I smile at them, knowing that when the weather warms they will melt into nothingness.
